I attended Palm Beach Atlantic College in Florida. It's only about a mile from the ocean, so students frequently go to the beach, even between classes. One day I was meeting with our dean, when he stopped me in the middle of our conversation and asked if I was an "A" student.

Puzzled, I replied, "Mostly, why do you ask?"

"You don't have a tan," he explained. "Around here, the darker the tan, the lower the grade."
