An ambitious junior executive had a conference with his boss. At the end of the meeting, he asked his boss about a raise "You'd better give me a raise because there are three companies after me!"

"Are any of these companies our competitors?" the boss asked.

"No," he answered with a grin, "they're the phone, gas, and electric companies."
